CHRISTMAS

Christmas is fantastic. Personally, I love Christmas. We have many traditions and I am going to tell you  about some of the traditions we have
We get a Christmas holiday which is about two weeks long. And if you ask me the holiday is the best part with Christmas. At this point of the yearat least I am very tired of schoolso a holiday is perfect.
The last week before the Christmas Eve the traditions really starts. Parents who are running around in the house to do the last Christmas preparations, is not unusual. We are baking Christmas cookies and my favorite cookie is gingerbread
We either buy or chop down Christmas tree in the forest and decorate the tree with Christmas- balls. In my family we are decorating the Christmas tree the day before the Christmas eve. We are also shopping Christmas presents to friends and family.
Many families eat rice porridge to dinner the day before Christmas eve or as lunch on the Christmas eve. After we have eaten rice porridge, we mix the leftovers of the porridge with whipped cream (in Norway we call it riskrem).
On the day everyone has been waiting for, many children get a Christmas stocking in the morning. We eat a good and long breakfast before we watch Christmas movies on the TV and someone goes to the church. Rest of the day each family have many different traditions.
The dinner on the Christmas eve is soooo good. Lamb ribs, pork ribs, turkey and "lutefisk" is some of the traditional dishes on Christmas eveAfter the dinner the desert comes. We eat "riskrem" as desertAnd now we can start to talk about the presents! Mabey you get a visit from the Santa Claus? The presents are under the tree and most of us can't wait to open them, but remember that Christmas is not just about the presents!
I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!
